Rental Policies & Terms

General Rental Requirements:

To rent with Houston Luxury Car Rental you must provide: a valid driver’s license, proof of full-coverage insurance that extends to the rented vehicle, payment of the rental fees, and a security deposit. The security deposit is held to cover any loss, damage, additional fees, or charges that may arise during the rental period. In the absence of damage or additional charges, the deposit will be returned in full.

Cancellations and Changes:

All reservations are non-refundable. If your plans change, the rental fee will be converted into a future store credit, valid for 3 months from the original reservation date.

 

Security Deposit & Refunds:

The security deposit varies by vehicle and rental details and ranges from $1,000 to $5,000 (or higher for long-term rentals). It is fully refundable upon the vehicle’s timely return in the same condition as delivered, with no damage, no smoking, no over-mileage, and the same fuel level.

Mileage Policy:

This is a low-mileage rental. All vehicles have a strict limit of 100 miles per day. Over-mileage charges are listed on your rental agreement and are calculated on a tiered basis (exact rates appear on page 1 of the contract). Any over-mileage is non-negotiable and will be deducted from your security deposit.

Fuel Policy:

All vehicles are delivered with a full tank of premium fuel. The vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level noted on the rental agreement. If the fuel level is lower, you will be charged a per-gallon fee not to exceed 50% above the local market price.

Smoking, Animals & Vehicle Condition:

Smoking is strictly prohibited in all vehicles. A $500 cleaning and deodorizing fee will be charged if any evidence of smoking (ashes, odor, etc.) is found. Animals are also not permitted, as they require additional cleaning. You are required to return the vehicle in the same condition as received. Any damage, even minor, may result in charges starting at a minimum of $250, with higher amounts assessed for wheels, bumpers, or other components.

Damage & Accident Responsibility:

You are fully responsible for any loss or damage to the vehicle during the rental period, regardless of fault. This includes collision, theft, vandalism, or acts of nature. You must promptly report any accident to the police and to Houston Luxury Car Rental and provide all documentation. Houston Luxury Car Rental reserves the right to pursue repair costs, loss of use, diminution of value, and administrative fees beyond the security deposit and your insurance coverage.

Prohibited Uses & Contract Violations:

The following are strictly prohibited and will result in immediate loss of the security deposit, possible early vehicle recovery, and additional charges:

• Reckless driving, driving under the influence, or rigorous/abusive driving (including excessive speed, harsh acceleration/braking, or red-lining).

• Driving on unpaved roads, using the vehicle for racing, time trials, or any speed-related events.

• Allowing unauthorized drivers to operate the vehicle.

• Using the vehicle for illegal purposes or driver training.

• Failure to report an accident or return the vehicle on time.

Each vehicle is equipped with a GPS tracking device for your safety and our fleet protection.

Geographic Restrictions:

The vehicle may not be driven outside a 35-mile radius from downtown Houston, TX without prior written approval from a Houston Luxury Car Rental representative. Any unauthorized travel outside this area will result in full forfeiture of the security deposit plus a $500 fee, and may lead to immediate vehicle recovery.

Rental Extensions & Late Returns:

Any extension must be approved in advance by a representative. Failure to return the vehicle on time may result in late fees of $50 per hour (or $75 after business hours) plus $25 every 15 minutes thereafter, in addition to potential loss of the security deposit and vehicle recovery under Texas Penal Code Sec. 31.04 (Theft of Service).

Parking & Traffic Citations:

You are responsible for all parking tickets, tolls, or traffic citations incurred during the rental. These will be charged to the card on file, plus a $25 handling fee. Houston Luxury Car Rental has up to 90 days after vehicle return to notify you of any additional charges.

Governing Law:

This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Texas, with all obligations performable in Harris County, Texas.
